CCR&R Literacy Visits

Reading skills are critical to success in school.  With developmentally appropriate activities and materials, family child care homes and child care centers can help young children establish the foundation for a love of learning and reading.

A Community Engagement Specialist will come to your child care home or center 4 times a year and conduct an interactive literacy activity with the children that will consist of a story and extension activity. Teacher participation may be required. Visits are ONLY available for child care providers in DuPage and Kane County at this time.

You will also have the opportunity to check out resource kits from the literacy van to support your literacy curriculum and activities.

Our Quality Counts Curriculum Van resources include:

  • Interactive activities to promote literacy skills
  • Themed kits with books, games, imaginative play and manipulatives
  • Materials for teachers
  • Professional development information
All of these resources for $45 annually until November 30, 2019!
