Got stress? Pain? Reiki can help!
Reiki is a gentle, natural, healing modality that enhances the flow of life force energy, that which animates all living things. Because we are made up entirely of energy, Reiki can improve well-being on physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual levels. Anything is possible.
People often tell me I have a “gift” for channeling healing energy. I’m here to tell you, anyone who’s been attuned to reiki can channel life force energy to enhance the body’s own healing mechanisms and improve quality of life on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. After the first class, you’ll be able to offer Reiki to yourself, your loved ones, and anyone else in need. Think of it like taking a CPR class for the soul that you can use every day to make the world a better place.
*Prices start at $150. CEs are available to massage therapists and LCSWs.
-Reiki Brigade Introduction
Tell us about your business’ mission:
In addition to her private practice, Heather McCutcheon is the founder of the Reiki Brigade. Their mission is to raise awareness and availability of the benefits of reiki via ten-minute demos and presentations in large social institutions, communities in crisis, national conferences, and corporate settings. Here are just a few of the groups that have responded enthusiastically to reiki: Jesse Brown VA Hospital, University of Chicago Medical School, Chicago PD, Cook County DOC, Cook County Juvenile Detention Center, the Federal Aviation Administration, Loyola University, Narcotics Anonymous, the Epilepsy Foundation, etc. Quantum physics dictates that we are all made of energy. Energy practitioners and their clients know that we store trauma in our bodies energetically, and reiki can help move it out. Many of the societal problems we are having today result from trauma-induced fear and anger—rather than empathy—dictating behavior. If we are able to help people release this trauma, it not only helps individuals feel better, it helps them behave better. This will result in a reduction of incidents ranging from domestic violence to road rage, from police shootings to school shootings, from gang violence to terrorist attacks. We are all stakeholders in this chain, and we can all do our part.
Best thing about your work:
I find great joy and motivation in seeing people’s eyes open wide, both literally and figuratively. After a profound reiki experience, people begin to understand that they are energetic and spiritual in nature, and reiki is a valid approach to health and wellbeing on an individual level, as well as a way to promote peace within families, communities and throughout society. The world needs this understanding right now.
Why are you excited to partner with the YWCA?
The YWCA’s goals are very similar to ours, empowering people with valuable information and tools. They have done an excellent job of setting up an infrastructure to reach folks in need, and we would like to help serve them with demos, presentations, and YShop financial contributions.
